With this album, I tried to develop a sound that I like to call "ambientwave," a combination of the drones of ambient and the '80s nostalgia of vaporwave. I'm not the first artist to combine ambient and vaporwave, neither did I invent the term ambientwave, but I do hope I've developed somewhat of an original spin on both genres.

The title track was inspired by a weird phenomenon where I hear sound loops coming out of my white noise machine when I fall asleep. The rest of the tracks originally contained samples of '80s pop songs that I slowed down by 60% and added synths to, but then I thought, "Why both with samples? Why not just use drawn-out synth chords and a drum machine?" So that's what I did; I used the chords and beats from a song that I would have sampled, and created something new.
